Before we lived a simplistic life
We lived in towns where everybody knew each other
We were happy
We were Hungarians
Judaism, it was just our religion
World War II
Everybody was worried
We thought,
Just another thing it will blow over
Gunshots
More gunshots
It’s horrible
Just shot right on the spot
A war against the Jews
Why us?
Why do they hate us?
They were are friends
Struggling to survive
It’s like a battle field outside
Work camps
With piled bodies
This is the end
Were hunted animals
24 hours a day
My mind is going
Unbelievable
They were are friends
Totally unreal
I just don’t want to live
Will I survive?
Where is god?
Why us?

Rationale I chose to write about faith. I think this is imported because looking back on the Holocaust everyone just asks why? Why did Hitler do what he did? Why did he target the Jews? I don’t think that there’s simple answer to that. I think that he did it because you could he know that he could. He had a great amount of power and people would listen to him. He got his self in to a lot of trouble and need someone to blame. So he went after a group of people that didn’t know what was coming. The Jews were so shocked at what was happening and didn’t know why it was happening. They didn’t want to believe it was happening. They were confused on why people they were friends with all of a sudden hated them. With the events happening I would imagine that they turned to god and faith. Everything happens for a reason. What else were they going to believe? They had no idea what made them a target.
